DistributorCentral recently completed the infrastructure updates needed to host Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates for our hosted websites. SSL is the standard security technology used to ensure an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. In addition to the security benefits, SSL certificates are now being required by the various browsers in order for your website to not be flagged as insecure while simultaneously providing SEO benefits that will ensure that your website can be found easily in web searches.

In addition to the platform upgrades, every website hosted on DistributorCentral’s 2.0 website platform has been issued a free SSL certificate. Any new websites, including those hosted as part of DistributorCentral’s free user plan, will automatically be issued an SSL certificate when the website is published.

Any users still hosting websites on DistributorCentral’s 1.0 legacy website platform can update their site to the 2.0 mobile responsive platform in order to receive their a SSL certificate.
