Leed’s Launches HXD Decoration
Available on select backpacks, totes, journals and coolers.
PITTSBURGH — April 19, 2017 — Leed’s, a leading promotional products supplier, recently introduced HXD, a cutting-edge decoration method available on select backpacks, totes, journals and coolers. With HXD, logos and other branding elements are given an added dimension that creates a subtle pop on product surfaces. Leed’s parent company, Polyconcept North America, is the exclusive provider of the patented HXD manufacturing process in the United States and Canada. Trimark, PCNA’s apparel division, introduced HXD in March 2016.
HXD combines key attributes of two decoration methods – the surface interest and high perceived value of embroidery, and the detail, unlimited color and location versatility of transfer. The decoration is remarkably durable, as well. The adhesives have been tested to withstand everyday wear and tear, washing machines and dry cleaning. HXD is available in standard and metallic finishes, as well as a variety of specialty finishes and textures.
To prepare customer artwork for reproduction in HXD, there is a three-step process. First, the customer submits a vector art file. Then, a two-dimensional line art representation of the logo is created. Finally, a three-dimensional color rendering is developed to achieve the HXD look. Following artwork preparation, a special HXD tool is created for the artwork and the decoration is applied to the product. Since PCNA manufactures the HXD decoration, rather than use a third party, turnaround times are faster and costs are reduced.
The HXD look is currently a popular trend in retail. It’s been seen in professional sports on both the field and sidelines. “We are really excited to offer HXD decoration on these popular Leed’s products,” said Leanne Finney, PCNA Vice President of Marketing. “It’s a truly unique way for brands to set themselves apart. This look is trending in retail and we’re proud to be the exclusive provider of HXD in the U.S. and Canada.”
